A Swanky Basement Revival: #SubspaceSwag Week 1 of 8
As if my schedule wasn’t packed enough already, I’ve decided to enter the Spring session of the One Room Challenge. If you've been following along, you'll know that the ORC has been instrumental in honing my interior design skills. It has pushed me to refine my processes and tackle projects in my own home that I might have otherwise put off indefinitely.
They say a designer's own home is their toughest client, and I can vouch for that. But after putting off the tiny basement makeover for far too long post-flood, it's time to roll up our sleeves and make it happen. Introducing the #SubspaceSwag makeover journey!
Instead of laying out all my plans at once, I'll be dropping sporadic hints and iterations of the concept for this space. Fair warning: there have been quite a few! So buckle up and join me on this wild ride as we transform our subterranean space into a stylish sanctuary.
Week One has been a whirlwind of activity as we dive headfirst into transforming our small basement into a stylish oasis. Here's a rundown of what we've been up to:
Wall Concept: Walls are taped off and primed, setting the stage for the wall unit installation that's already bringing serious swag to the space.
Farewell to the Old: It's out with the old as we bid adieu to the tired old sofa, making way for fresh vibes and new beginnings.
Painting Drama: A sleek black accent behind the TV adds drama and depth to the space, setting the tone for the stylish transformation ahead.
Next Steps: While progress is well underway, there's still a to-do list looming. From patching and repairing walls to deep cleaning and sourcing affordable railing for the staircase, there's no shortage of tasks to tackle.
Stay tuned as we navigate the highs and lows of this makeover journey, bringing you along every step of the way. Until next time, keep dreaming, designing, and embracing the swag! ✨.
Stay tuned for Week Two as we dive deeper into the #SubspaceSwag transformation!
