Simple Bar Cart Styling for a Night In with My Girls
Not sure about you but my girlfriends are like family to me. My life is enriched as a result of having them around, and for this I am deeply grateful. I'm also proud of the women we've become thus far.
Since we're approaching summer, I thought it would be fun to host a girls night in at my house. A celebration of our unique sisterhood.

Due to our busy lives, we don't get together as often as we'd like. So I wanted to put a bit of extra effort into making this girls-night-in special.
I haven't entirely mapped out our plans for the evening. Perhaps that's something you readers can help me with that a bit later in this post. But for now, I decided to start with something easy like a beverage cart. I picked up this 3-shelf bar cart from IKEA a few months back, and I've been dying to put it to use.
The No-Fuss Way I Styled My Bar Cart
My plan is to entertain under the pergola my husband, and I built for my Moroccan-themed One Room Challenge. So I thought a garden theme would be perfect. Flowers have a way of making simple projects appear more complicated to execute than they really are.
First, I filled this beverage dispenser with water infused with fresh rosemary, sliced lemons, and lime. The center cone usually holds the ice. But for now, I just inserted some faux flowers. Cute. Functional. Done.
For the sweet wine sippers in the group, I added mini bottles of pink Moscato (which I will be sure to serve chilled of course). These yellow tinted flutes that I got a few years back from Pier1 would be perfect for Raspberry Bellinis. Delish!
Next, for those who want neither wine, nor infused water, I added other beverage options on the second shelf. To pretty things up a bit, I added pink straws to the stemless wine glasses.
What a difference that made! By the way, I found these stemless wine glasses at DollarTree. Yes, you read that correctly...DollarTree. The quality of the glass is remarkably good.
Finally, on the last shelf, I pulled a bottle of Haitian Rhum Barbancourt, a bit of hypnotic, and a random bottle of wine from "the stash". What is "the stash" you ask?
Whenever we have guests, they always - ALWAYS bring wine or alcohol. Since my husband and I only drink occasionally, this means that we've collected a "stash" of various bottles of wine and spirits. We've had that bottle of Hypnotic for at least 5 years.
Here is the finished product! Simple, stress-free and practical. But this bar cart is just the beginning. Next, I'll work on creating something special at the dinner table. Stay tuned...
Now it's your turn:
- Ladies, what would make a memorable Ladies Night In for you?
- Guys, I've been told that women like to style bar carts, but men like to use them. So tell me what's on your bar cart?
One more favor may I ask of you?
