Wedding Week: For the Bride Who Just Has #ThatThingWithPink

Welcome Wedding Week: Day 3

If there is one color that will forever remain popular for weddings it's pink.  Brides of every age seem to love this color.

And it's no wonder.  It is a delicate color that symbolizes sweetness, romance, femininity and tenderness.  It is also a symbol of unconditional love, and thus perfect for a wedding.  I bet you thought many of those qualities were associated only with the color red huh?

Today we'll explore this enchanting color in our staged outdoor reception. Welcome to day 3 of wedding week!

I am keeping many of the same decor elements that were used in the gold and white reception theme earlier this week.  But the hanging "LOVE" hoops (covered in yesterday's post) now have a bit more prominence in this romantic setting, with the addition of more flowers.  Can I just say that I am gaga over this DIY?  I wish I had thought of it.

Inspiration for a Pretty in Pink Wedding

The photo below reveals more of the dessert table, which features a flashy pink payette sequin overlay.  It's almost as if the desserts got dressed up for the occasion.  Ha!  By the way, all of the desserts below are real, with the exception of the styrofoam cake.

The hand-drawn mirror is also making another appearance.  It says "Paix, Amour et Bonheur", which in French means "Peace, Love and Happiness."  It's a great wish for the bride and groom and all guests present.

The pink lotus chair ties below were hand cut and sewn by yours truly.  I made a total of 150 of these two years ago for a wedding.  One hundred and fifty y'all.

It took roughly about 4 months to cut each of these petals, and a little over 15 hours to sew them together.  Did I mention that I am NOT a seamstress?  This challenging project is what gave me the courage to start this little blog.  Thank you to the loving couple, Tony and Mary for giving me that extra push!

We all know that pink is the color most often selected for bridal and baby showers too.  So I decided to pair this set up with Bridal Shower cards from Zazzle.

I love the refreshing look of this!  A number of my neighbors stopped their cars as they were passing by to wave and take a peek.  Some made U-turns and to get a second look.  A few even pulled up a chair and watched while I worked.  The encouragement was awesome!

And one last look before I go... Do you see the neighbor in the black car, in the upper left hand corner of the photo below?  That's his third time passing by.  (Smile)

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my creation.  Please tell me in the comments below,  how do you like this inspiration?
