Up and Coming Designers You Should Know

1.  Forbes + Masters

This young duo from Atlanta is literally taking the design world by storm.  They've already been featured in a number of magazines.  Recently they were named among the top 20 African American Designers.

If you love bold designs but have trouble putting them together in your own home, you should study this team.  Their designs are always crisp.  Notice the sitting room, dining area and nursery below.  Seriously jaw-dropping, yet uncomplicated.

Think you still can't master it from studying the photos?  Well, you'll be happy to know that Ms. Forbes and Ms. Masters offer virtual consultations.

2.  Alexandra Kaehler Design

If a more relaxed yet glamorous interior is what you're searching for, then you'll love this Chicago designer.  Notice how she blends soft and dark colors effortlessly.  She also has an amazing knack for mixing different styles of furniture within the same room.  The end result is never less than stunning.

Perhaps you have a collection of furniture that has been passed down to you.   Each piece is precious to you, but you struggle to find ways to make them work in your home.  If this is the case with you, get your "fix" by studying this designer.

3.  Alyssa Kapito

I have one word to describe this New York designer: Swoon baby!  Okay so that's two words.  But if a light, airy feel is your jam, THIS is your go to designer.  I like to call her style, traditional with an edge.  Just when you think one of her rooms has a familiarity to it— BAM! She throws in some strong architectural element that forces you to take a second look.  Never, ever a dull moment with Ms. Kapito.

It might also interest you to know that Alyssa Kapito was named one of the top 10 Instagram accounts to follow in 2017 twice With nearly 900 photos you'll have plenty of inspiration to choose from.

These are, by no means the only designers that I recommend, but it's a good place to start.  In the coming months, I'll be sure to share snippets of portfolios from other designers.  I'll also try to hone in closer on tips we could all use to address the trouble decor spots of our homes.   Stay tuned...

Please tell me, which of the styles above most closely resembles your own?
