No-Sew Bolster Cover (from curtains)
I want to share a quick no-sew, DIY project with you that I promise will measure up to even the most discriminating tastes.
Recently I wrote a post on 5 Unconventional Ways to Use Curtains. If you missed it, click here for an exciting read. In it I promised to share with you how I used a pair of curtains to cover an old bolster I purchased second hand for 5 bucks.

HOW TO MAKE A NO-SEW BOLSTER COVER
I am now making good on that promise. So with out further delay, here are the items I used:
- 2-4 rubber bands (similar in color to the fabric being used)
- 1 pair of curtains (50"w x 84"L per panel)
- 1 bolster (6" x 30")
Step 1
Lay both curtains on a flat surface and fold their length in half.
Step 2
Place the bolster inside the fold of one of the curtains (#1).
Step 3
- Roll the bolster inside of the curtain
- Stop periodically to make sure the fabric is pulled tightly around the bolster
- Tuck any excess curtain fabric while rolling
Your first rolled curtain, with the bolster inside, should look like this:
Step 4
- Place the curtain-covered bolster on top of the 2nd curtain.
- Make sure that the grommet holes for curtain #1 are facing the opposite direction as those for curtain #2*
- Repeat the same rolling process in Step 3.
*IMPORTANT: Make sure to leave enough overhang fabric from curtain #2 so that it can be secured with a rubber band.
Step 5
- You will notice (in the photo on the right), that the fold from curtain #2 will be visible on one end of the bolster.
- Gently gather the loose fold along with the rest of the fabric from curtain #1 into something that resembles a ponytail
- Secure the "ponytail" of fabric with a rubber band.
- Repeat on the other side
Both ends should look like this:
Now simply pull the curtain gently through the rubber band to tighten, and flare out the ends on both sides. Et Voila! Here is the finished product!
