How to Make a Simple Tutti-Frutti Moscato Drink

Whenever my friend girls ask what I’d like to drink, my answer is always the same. “Do you have something fruity?” 

Fruit-filled ice cubes are a fun, easy and inexpensive way to spruce up a glass of just about anything.  Not only can they elevate the look of a tablescape when on display, but they're a tantilizing last treat at the bottom of an empty glass. 

These fruity cubes are not to be confused though, with traditional tutti-frutti, which is a kind of ice cream that contains small pieces of nuts and fruit. Usually fruit ice cubes are made with simple spring water and a handful of fruit.  But like most recipes, you can modify this to suit your taste.  

Recently, I put a spin on this old classic by switching out the water for Pink Moscato.  The concoction provides the perfect excuse to have guests over for a light midweek cocktail.

Making the Ice Cubes

Scale of difficulty: 1 of 5

What You Will Need

  • Ice trays 
  • A variety of fruit cut into bite sized portions 
  • Pink Moscato, Rosé, or some other preferred beverage
  • Fruit juice (peach tea and sparkling cider are both great options)

Instructions

  1. Fill each cube tray with your choice of fruit.
  2. Top each section off with Moscato, or other preferred beverage.
  3. Freeze for 2 to 3 hours.
  4. Top off frozen ice cubes with your choice of peach tea, sparkling cider or of course, more moscato!

For a unique twist (come on you KNEW that was coming), add fresh herbs like basil, fennel, rosemary, or lemon balm. In the photo below I added lemon balm.

Don't drink alcohol, and you find water is too bland?  Try substituting the liquid used for the ice cubes with a non-alcholic distilled spirit like SEEDLIP.  It's non-alcoholic, sugar free, allergen free, sweetener free, and contains no artificial flavors.  

Place the cubes in a clear glass to show off your masterpiece.  Add a bit more fruit for garnish and enjoy! It doesn’t get any easier than that folks now does it?  Tell me please in the comments below:
