Fall 2017 One Room Challenge: The Obsession Continues

ORC Guest Participant Roundup

We are 7 days removed from reveal week of the Fall 2017 season of the One Room Challenge.  Yet I am still in awe of the gorgeous spaces produced by the more than 200 other bloggers and designers!

So inundated I was with finishing my own space though, that I never fully got a chance to cheer on my "teammates".  So I thought I'd do this first of many round ups to support them.

I hope you will be moved to show these gifted folks some love by visiting their blogs for more details.

Thank you and welcome back! When a couple hundred talented people come together in one place, it's difficult to choose a favorite.  And since I've only made it through a quarter of the list of participants, I'll just say that these were among the most memorable from the first batch.

Oksana Radinova

Y'all know I love a great DIY right?  Well Oksana's sharpie pen gallery wall made me sit straight up like an ostrich in my seat.  Check out the precision of her lines below.  Can you believe she measured and drew them on that entire wall using a gold sharpie pen and a leveler?!  If that's not impressive enough, you'll be surprised to know that Oksana took on, not 1—but 10 different areas of her home for this makeover challenge.  Bravo!

One word came to my mind when I saw this bedroom: SA-woon!  That wallpaper stopped me right in my feed

Recall that I ventured into new territory when I included wallpaper in my own made over space and loved it.  And while I still prefer painted surfaces, that wall behind the bed could force me to break up with my every last one of my painted walls.  Ha!

Natalie Jacob

When I first decided to make over my hallway I thought no one would take me seriously.  How relieved I was to see that others decided to tackle the same space in their home.  Natalie's photo of her ombré painted staircase was snatched up and sent straight to my pinterest board.  This is but a snippet.  Click on the photo below for the  full reveal.

Lisa & Kristen

Ahhh the power of —not cheese— but paint!  This foyer had great bones to begin with.  But Kristen took it to another level when she whipped out a can of black paint, and used it judiciously, to give a dramatic lift to the room.  Boy what a difference that made!  This 2-story space is now magazine ready.

Jessica VanderVeen

We all know what it's like to decorate on a strict budget.  What impressed me about Jessica's space is that she refreshed her master bedroom using items she already had around the home.  And Jessica did something I have yet to muster up the courage to try.  She reupholstered her entire bed frame - headboard, side railings and all!  She also gave attention to often missed details like wall trim by installing it herself.  Yes, a polished room requires a lot more than cute tchotchkes.

I promise you that I'm not playing favorites here B-U-T, there were so many gorgeous angles of this family room that couldn't share just one photo.  You understand right?  Check out the height of that ceiling!  Trust me when I say:  You need to see this room.

It's been my pleasure to present this short round up to you.  Please remember to check of the posts from these lovely ladies.  Tell me now, which of the rooms featured most closely represents your personal style?

One more favor may I ask of you?
